CONESTOGA 33, MOHAWK 20

HAMILTON, Ont. - They put some points on the board, but the improving Mohawk men's rugby team lost 33-20 to Conestoga in OCAA play at Mohawk Sports Park on Thursday.

Billy Gemmell scored two tries for the Mountaineers, whose record dropped to 1-4 with one more game to play. Brandon Codner also had a try, while Jacob Kit kicked a convert as well as a penalty goal.

For Conestoga, now 3-2, Zachery Gilbert had two tries, Brandon Innis scored on two penalties and a convert, and James Innis, Greg Dawkins and Spencer Burke each had a try.

Mohawk's final regular season game will be versus Humber on Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Mohawk Sports Park.
