TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 16.
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 16.
MALE: Jose Bruno Mota, La Cite
La Cite's Jose Bruno Mota scored four goals in
two games, including a hat trick in a 3-1 win at Durham on Oct 15.
Mota added another goal the following day in a 3-3 tie at Seneca.
Mota has scored 10 goals in five matches this season, and with two
matches to go, should have a lock on another scoring championship.
Mota scored 14 goals last season.
FEMALE: Jenn Sheehan, Durham
Jenn Sheehan scored four goals in a 6-0 victory
over Centennial on Oct. 11. Sheehan, a two-time OCAA all-star, has
a total of five goals on the season. By earning four points in the
OCAA East standings last week, Durham (3-1-2) has secured a playoff
berth, and can clinch second place with a win over Loyalist on
Wednesday and a Seneca tie or loss.
