KINGSTON, Ont. – The Durham College men's soccer team earned a hard fought 3-2 victory over the St. Lawrence College Vikings on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the Lords third straight conference win as they move into a three-way tie for second place in the OCAA east region.
Marco Trotta of Oshawa scored two goals in the victory while captain Duncan Mitchell of Pickering scored one. Trotta and Mitchell each have three goals this season to sit in the top ten in OCAA league scoring.
After St. Lawrence had tied the game up with less than ten minutes left in the game, Trotta was able to score the game winning goal in the 89th minute, breaking the heart of the Vikes fans and extending the Lords winning streak to three games.
The game featured plenty of fouls with both teams having an aggressive style of play.
Durham is 3-2-0 this season while the Vikings slip to 0-4-1.
The Lords will host the Cambrian Golden Shield (2-1-3) on Saturday, September 29. Game time at Civic Fields is 3 p.m.
