VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFF QUALIFIERS ALL SET IN OCAA
TORONTO - The 2010-11 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men’s and women’s volleyball regular season may have come to an end on Wednesday, but 24 teams still remain in the hunt for a potential provincial championship.
TORONTO - The 2010-11 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association
(OCAA) men’s and women’s volleyball regular season may
have come to an end on Wednesday, but 24 teams still remain in the
hunt for a potential provincial championship.
Of the 24 squads, eight teams have already advanced to their
respective OCAA championship tournaments. Durham (16-2), Humber
(15-3), Seneca (14-4) and Sheridan (15-3) will spend the next week
preparing for the OCAA men’s volleyball championship hosted
by Seneca, while Cambrian (19-1), Humber (21-1), Nipissing (21-1)
and Trent (18-2) will do the same on the women’s side. The
OCAA women’s volleyball championship will be hosted by
Loyalist.
For the remaining 16, each club has one final opportunity to
clinch a spot at their respective provincial championships. One and
done time has arrived for these teams, as their destiny will be
played out this weekend. Teams will face opponents from the
opposite division for the first time in conference play this year.
Conveniently, these games will be played at four sites: Algonquin
College, Fanshawe College, Loyalist College and Mohawk College.
