HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk men's volleyball team moved to 5-0 with a straight sets win over the Cambrian Golden Shield of Sudbury, Ont., on Friday at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre. The scores were 25-16, 25-10, 25-15 as Cambrian fell to 1-5.
Nathan Delguidice led the Mountaineers with 10 kills and one stuff block. Brandon Koklis had six kills, one ace and two blocks. Jesse Walczak had 31 assists, as the Mohawk bench saw most of the action.
Isaac Claveau had six kills for the Golden Shield.
Mohawk head coach Matthew Schnarr thought his team executed well and had special praise for Walczak and Koklis.
"Those are guys who go to war every night to help, what people call our starting lineup, prepare," said Schnarr. "But based on our depth they push every night to get court time and to watch them go out and play free and get a chance to do good things in a match was really fun to be part of tonight."
The Mountaineers have little time to rest. They host the Boreal Vipers Saturday at 3 p.m. in the DBARC.
