St. Clair (4-6) defeated Mohawk (5-5) by a score of 73-57.
St. Clair used a strong second quarter outscoring Mohawk 21-9 in the frame and took 35-23 lead in the half-time break. St. Clair increased their lead in the third quarter but did allow Mohawk to cut the difference to 14 points before closing out the victory.
The Saints were led by Arica Price (Fort McMurray, Alta.) who scored a game-high 19 points adding eight assists and seven steals. Amanda McCarthy (Windsor/Assumption) scored 13 points while Kelly Rizea (Windsor/Vincent Massey) and Kaylee Williams (Amherstburg/General Amherst) each chipped in with 11 points. Williams also added 12 rebounds and was only outdone on the boards by teammate Daniella Abrams (Windsor/Vincent Massey) who cleared 13 rebounds adding six steals.
Mohawk's Megan Campbell had 13 points in a losing effort.
The St. Clair Basketball teams go on the road Jan. 18th when they visit Fanshawe College (London) continuing their OCAA West Region Schedule.
