DURHAM 73, FLEMING (P) 47 (FINAL)
OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College looked dominant on Friday night as they defeated the Fleming Knights 73-47 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre in OCAA women's basketball action.
In the Lords largest margin of victory of the season, it was Durham's defence that shined as they held the Knights to a 26 percent shooting percentage while outrebounding them 66-42.
On the scoresheet, Durham was led by their captain Erin Emery (North Bay, Ont.), who had 27 points and 16 rebounds.
Kelsey Hare of Whitby, Ont. had her fifth double-double of the season as she had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Hare has scored in double digits in every game she has played this season.
Keriann Sullivan (Scarborough, Ont.) completed the double-double hat-trick for the Lords as she had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Fleming was led by Janel Lovell with 21 points and nine rebounds.
The Lords move into a tie for fifth place with Fleming as both teams having matching 4-5 records. They trail Loyalist College who sit in fourth place at 5-4.
Durham will head to Belleville, Ont. next weekend for a match against Loyalist. Game time at the Lancerdome is 6 p.m.
