ST. CLAIR 67, HUMBER 63
WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball evened their record at 2-2 after toppling previously unbeaten and top ranked Humber College at the SportsPlex Saturday night by a score of 67-63.
Humber was second ranked in the OCAA and stood No. 9 in the recent CCAA national poll. The Saints were able to put five players in double figures in the relatively low scoring affair and made a living from the line scoring 25 points from the stripe which proved to be edge.
Second-year guard Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) led St. Clair scoring 17 points to go with seven rebounds adding a pair of blocked shots. First-year post Nicole Tamm (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) provided a presence on the block scoring 11 points with four rebounds for the Saints.
Veronica Uras (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey) was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line and finished with 10 points. Meighen Boyd (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne) and Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) each scored 10 points for St. Clair with Bondy chipping in six assists.
Llyandra Kerr (Scarborough, Ont.) led Humber with 14 points and a whopping 19 rebounds in the loss.
