SUDBURY, Ont. - For the second day in a row, Mohawk's basketball teams downed the Cambrian Golden Shield in OCAA play in Sudbury, Ont. on Sunday.
The Mountaineer men drubbed Cambrian 114-55 as Matt Fennell scored 23 points and had six rebounds. Andrew Cicuttini notched 19 points and eight rebounds, Matt Cicuttini scored 16 points and had five rebounds, Matt Savel scored 17 points and Yosef Malakandov had eight points and three boards.
For Mohawk, it was their sixth straight win after a season opening game loss. Cambrian fell to 0-7.
The Mountaineer women also made it six straight wins to go to 6-1, as they topped the Golden Shield 82-52. Stef Hrymak scored 20 points while Jen Jen Abella had 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Katelyn Arbour and Brittany Gazzola scored 11 points apiece.
Cambrian dropped to 1-6.
