WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team outlasted Cambrian College (Sudbury, Ont.) Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex by a score of 55-45 and enter the semester break with a 5-4 record in the OCAA west region.
The Saints never trailed but could not open up a large lead as Cambrian was able to hang around most of the game. St. Clair led 30-18 at halftime but Cambrian moved to within eight points (45-37) early in the fourth quarter making the outcome questionable. The Saints did, however, win nearly every statistical category en route to the win.
St. Clair's Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) scored a game-high 21 points with 10 rebounds for the double-double adding three blocked shots. Meighen Boyd (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne) reached double figures with 16 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Cambrian's Karli Marcotte (Garson, Ont.) scored 14 points adding six rebounds in the loss.
