WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team shot a miserable 27 per cent in the first half and never recovered falling 77-55 to Mohawk College on Friday night at the SportsPlex.
Mohawk jumped ahead 42-22 at half time by shooting 61 per cent from the field and had 24 points from the foul line as opposed to just 11 for the Saints.
St. Clair's Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) scored 13 points adding four rebounds but never found a rhythm. Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) was the only other Saint in double figures scoring 12 points to go with five assists.
Mohawk's Jen Jen Abella (Hamilton, Ont.) scored 17 points adding five assists and four steals in the win.

WINDSOR, Ont. - Make it 12 wins in a row for the Mohawk women's basketball team. The OCAA west front-runners improved to 12-1 with their 79-55 verdict over St. Clair in Windsor, Ont., on Friday. The Saints dropped to 6-5.
Jen Jen Abella scored 17 points for the Mountaineers. Stef Hrymak and Shanien O'Neill had 15 apiece and Jakayla Douse chipped in with 12.
Then the Mountaineer men knocked off St. Clair 93-75 for a rare victory in Windsor. Matt Fennell scored 31 points and had eight rebounds. Andrew Cicuttini had 21 points and nine rebounds and Matt Savel contributed 10 points and seven boards.
With the victory Mohawk pushed its record to 11-2, while St. Clair fell to 4-7.
Both Mohawk squads move on to Sarnia, Ont., on Saturday afternoon where they will face the Lambton Lions.
