WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team bounced back with a 90-68 win over Redeemer University College (Ancaster, Ont.) Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex.
The Lady Saints scored 33 points off 27 Redeemer turnovers and were able to capitalize on the offensive boards with 29 second chance points. After trailing 23-21 at the end of the first quarter St. Clair turned it around to lead 43-31 by half time and never looked back.
With five players in double figures St. Clair was led by Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) and Torrie Handsor (Wallaceburg, Ont.) who each scored 19 points. However, player of the game honours went to the third-year Saints forward Tori Schutz (Lasalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) who scored 18 points adding five rebounds and six assists to go with three steals.
Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) scored 14 points with six assists and Meighen Boyd (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne) chipped in with 11 points for St. Clair.
Redeemer's Jesseca Brown (Grand Manan, N.B.) scored 20 points in the loss.
