TORONTO, In the last game of the opening day of the belairdirect OCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the St Lawrence Vikings defeated Fanshwe Falcons by a score of 55-41.
St. Lawrence's high scorer was Sammy Gourdier (Kingston, Ont.) with a total of 13 points, scoring seven during the first half and six during the second. St. Lawrence outscored Fanshawe in every quarter of the game. The player of the game went to Lacey Knox (Kingston, Ont.) who contributed with 10 points and 18 rebounds.
Fanshawe's high scorer and player of the game went to Laura Vere (Stratford, Ont.). She scored seven points in the first half and finished the game with a total of 12.
