WELLAND, Ont. - On Thursday night at the 2016 belairdirect OCAA Women's Basketball Championship hosted by Niagara College, the CCAA No. 10 nationally-ranked Fanshawe women's basketball team (16-4) won their quarter-final game versus the St. Lawrence Vikings (9-6) by a final score of 64-49.

Fanshawe's captain and OCAA second-team all-star Laura Vere was named the player of the game, after filling the stat sheet with 10 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and seven steals.

The Falcons will now play in the semifinal on Friday at 6 p.m. versus the No. 3-ranked Humber Hawks (19-0).
