OCAA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS BEGIN SATURDAY
The Ontario Colleges Athletics Association (OCAA) Round of 16 matches have been set for women's basketball, with eight elimination matches taking place this weekend.

The top eight teams in each division advance to the post-season and will compete in an inter-divisional crossover round based on seeding (1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc.). Winners will advance to the quarter-finals next weekend. All matches in the opening two rounds will be hosted by the higher seeded team.
The final four surviving teams will advance to the OCAA championship to be hosted by the top remaining seed. The OCAA Women's Basketball Championship will take place over a two-day span between Feb. 28 - Mar. 2.
Sheridan (3-13, 8th West) at Algonquin (14-0, 1st East)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 1 p.m.
The undefeated Algonquin Wolves led all OCAA teams averaging 74.1 points per game, while allowing the league's fewest points against, an average of 38.6.
Wolves fourth-year guard Dasia McDonald (Nepean) led all OCAA student-athletes with 70 assists and 65 steals during regular season play.
The Sheridan Bruins won their final game of the regular season on Saturday 58-57 over Fanshawe to clinch the final playoff position in the West Division.
First-year point guard Lyric Shallow (Barrie) led all Bruins averaging 9.3 points per game.
With the tiebreaker "possession arrow" pointing towards the East Division this year, the Algonquin Wolves would host the OCAA championship if they win their next two.
Redeemer (4-12, 7th West) at Georgian (11-3, 2nd East)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 1 p.m.
The Georgian Grizzlies have gone 8-2 in their last 10 regular season games and are on a three-game winning streak.
First-year forward Sydney Shawyer (Horseshoe Valley) and second-year guard Ami May (Raymond, Alta.) both averaged better than a dozen points per game for the Grizzlies during the regular season.
The Redeemer Royals are 3-7 in their last 10 regular season games, dropping three in a row.
Second-year guard Sydney Drain (Tweed) led all Royals during the regular season averaging 12.4 points per game.
Centennial (5-9, 6th East) at Mohawk (11-5, 3rd West)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 1 p.m.
The Mohawk Mountaineers have won seven of their last 10 OCAA sanctioned games.
Mountaineers third-year forward Kendra Oliver (Ajax) led all OCAA student-athletes with 206 total rebounds during the regular season.
The Centennial Colts enter the OCAA crossovers on a four-game losing streak.
Colts fourth-year centre Mikayla Simon-Tucker (Vaughan) led all East Division players with 183 total rebounds.
St. Lawrence (2-12, 8th East) at Niagara (14-2, 1st West)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 2 p.m.
Winners of nine of their last 10 regular season games, the Niagara Knights allowed the fewest points against in the West Division this season, an average of 50.3 per game.
Fourth-year forward Janee Harrison (St. Catharines) led the Knights offensively averaging 14.8 points per game.
The St. Lawrence Surge enter the OCAA crossovers having lost two straight.
Surge third-year guard Ella Doull (Toronto) led all OCAA student-athletes scoring 313 points and averaging 22.4 points per game.
Fanshawe (8-8, 5th West) at Seneca (6-8, 4th East)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 2 p.m.
The Seneca Sting have lost six of their last 10 regular season games, but defeated Centennial 63-61 in overtime on Feb. 4 to clinch a home playoff game.
First-year guard Shameen Brown (Toronto) averaged 10.6 point per game for the Sting during the regular season.
Like their overall regular season record, the Fanshawe Falcons are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
Fanshawe first-year forward Ashlyn Anderson (Latchford) led all OCAA student-athletes with 40 regular season blocks.
Durham (5-9, 5th East) at Lambton (9-7, 4th West)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 2 p.m.
The defending OCAA champion Lambton Lions are 5-5 in their last 10 regular season games.
Lions fifth-year wing Breanna Pretty (Sarnia) led all West Division players with 56 steals in the regular season.
The Durham Lords lost their last two regular season games, and seven of their last 10 games.
Second-year forward Emma Bergen (La Crête, Alta.) is averaging 12.2 points per game in Durham's last six games.
George Brown (3-11, 7th East) at Humber (14-2, 2nd West)
Saturday, Feb. 15 - 6 p.m.
The Humber Hawks are on a four-game winning streak, winning nine of their last 10 regular season games. The Hawks led all West Division teams averaging 70.4 points per game.
Humber fifth-year shooting guard Kia Watt (Toronto) led all West Division players scoring 307 points and averaging 19.2 points per game.
The George Brown Huskies ended a five-game losing streak with a 54-44 win over Durham in their regular season finale on Feb. 7.
Third-year guard Jordyn Dawkins (Ajax) averaged 13.6 points per game for the Huskies during the regular season.
St. Clair (6-10, 6th West) at Loyalist (10-4, 3rd East)
Sunday, Feb. 16 - 1 p.m.
The Loyalist Lancers enter the crossovers winners of seven of their last 10 regular season games.
Third-year guard Grace Callahan (Corbyville) led the Lancers during the regular season averaging 13.6 points per game.
The St. Clair Saints have lost seven of their last 10 regular season games, but are coming off a 79-50 win over Redeemer in their last game on Feb. 8.
Saints fourth-year guard Shae-lyn Murphy (Windsor) led all West Division players with 65 assists.
