KINGSTON, Ont. – The Durham College women's soccer team won their third straight conference game with a 2-1 victory over St. Lawrence College on Wednesday.
The Lords scored back-to-back second half goals within three minutes of one another to take a 2-0 lead. Laura Ogle (Oshawa, Ont.) scored her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute while Megan Arsenault (Ajax, Ont.) scored her fifth goal in the 63rd minute.
St. Lawrence would score a late goal with ten minutes left in the match, but Durham maintained their composure and ran out the clock on the Vikings.
For Arsenault, it was the second straight game that she scored the game winning goal as she had a hat-trick against the Fleming Knights on Saturday. She has five goals this season to lead all OCAA scorers.
"The girls were very slow in the first half and the scoreline reflected that," said Durham head coach Dave Staley. "The second half we played at our level and were unlucky not to score another one or two goals."
With the win, Durham (4-1-0) jumps into second place in the OCAA east region, three points behind the Algonquin Thunder (5-0-0).
Durham will host the Cambrian Golden Shield (0-6-0) on Saturday afternoon at Civic Fields. Kick-off is at 2 p.m.
