TORONTO - The Durham College women's soccer team earned their fifth straight conference victory as they defeated the Centennial Colts by a score of 4-0 in Toronto.
Durham's offence got off to a slow start, but exploded for four second half goals topick up three big points in the standings.
The win sets up a showdown in the OCAA east region as the Lords (6-1-0) are tied with the Seneca Sting (6-1-0) for second place. The regular season finale between the two rivals will take place on Tuesday, October 9 at 6 p.m. as the teamssquare off at Vaso's Field. A playoff bye is on the line.
Against Centennial, Durham veterans Kristen Bodashefsky and Megan Arsenault scored two quick goals off corner kicks in the second half to give Durham a 2-0 lead.
Kaela Stinchcombe-Brown would score ten minutes later as she chipped in a shot from 20 yards out that beat two defenders and the goalkeeper. Arsenault would finish off the scoring for Durham by sliding the ball past the keeper after she was sent in on a breakaway late in the game.
Arsenault leads the OCAA in scoring this season with seven goals in seven games.
Alicia Del Fuoco and Sarah Broderick combined in goal for the third Lords shutout this season.
