KITCHENER, Ont. - The St. Clair College varsity women's soccer regular season got off to solid start on Saturday.
The Saints travelled to Conestoga College to take on the Condors in their first OCAA match of the year and came away with a tough fought 1-1 draw.
The first half was scoreless as both goalies each turned away a couple of great chances. Conestoga opened up the scoring in the 76th minute to take the lead. However, the lead was short lived as Nicole McKenzie (Belle River, Ont.) tied the match in the 79th minute. Katrina Arnold (Essex, Ont.) was solid in goal in turning away eight of nine shots on net.
St. Clair will open its home schedule this coming Friday when they host the Mohawk Mountaineers at 2:30 p.m. at the Main Campus field. Admission is free for all soccer matches.
