ANCASTER, Ont. - The Fanshawe women's soccer team downed Mohawk 3-1.

The Falcons led 1-0 after the first half on a goal by Marisa Oliveira in the 17th minute.

Ten minutes into the second half Jade Kovacevic scored on a beautiful header for the Falcons. But in the 71st minute, Mohawk had some hope as Gabriella Krebs got loose and fired home.

However, just two minutes later, Nicole McDonald got that back for Fanshawe, ending the scoring.

The Falcons improved to 7-1 while the Mountaineers fell to 4-4.
