ST. CLAIR 3, MOHAWK 2 (FINAL)

The St. Clair College men's and women's volleyball teams hosted the Mohawk Mountaineers on Friday, January 27 at the St. Clair gym.

In the women's match, the Saints defeated Mohawk by a score of 3-2 in a very exciting and see-saw match. Game scores for St. Clair were 19-25, 25-13, 25-18, 18-25, and 15-10.

St. Clair was led by Alee Brecka with 13 kills, 1 stuff block, and 13 digs. Samantha Bueckert also had a big game with 7 kills, 4 service aces, 2 stuff blocks and 7 digs.

The Saints record improved to 5-9 on the season while Mohawk fell to 3-11. The women are in a tight playoff race as they sit in a three-way tie for the sixth and final playoff spot. However, the Saints are only one win out of fourth place with 4 matches remaining.

Both Saints teams are in action next weekend when they travel to North Bay to take on the Nipissing Lakers and Canadore Panthers.
