DURHAM WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL INTRODUCES 2012 RECRUITING CLASS
OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College women's volleyball head coach Shane Christopher is pleased to announce the addition of five recruits to the Lords line-up for next season.

Shane Christopher is pleased to announce the
addition of five recruits to the Lords line-up for next season.
Joining the team will be outside hitters Rayan
Bourne, Amy Hogan and Stephanie
Larose along with middles Jessica Van
Staalduinen and Raechel Mohns.
"The coaching staff is very excited to add this type of talent to
our line-up next season," said Christopher. "All of the players are
aware of the winning tradition in women's volleyball at Durham
College and they are ready to hit the court in September and
compete for a provincial title."
RAYAN BOURNE
Hometown: Whitby, Ont.
Bourne, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Whitby, Ont. played club
volleyball with the Durham Attack and now with the Ganaraska
Wolves. For two straight seasons, she played in the Ontario Summer
Games. In 2011, her team went undefeated to win the championship,
where she ended the final match with a kill. Her teams went on to
win the 17U provincial cup East in Kingston, Ont., as well as the
16U East Canadian Nationals in Calgary.
She also played four years for Sinclair SS. In 2010-11, the
Celtics went undefeated winning the LOSSA and OFSAA championship.
In 2009-10, she was named the MVP on the volleyball team as well as
winning the MVP at the Pierre Elliott Trudeau volleyball
tournament.
AMY HOGAN
Hometown: Prince George, B.C.
Hogan. a 5-foot-10 outside hitter from Prince George, B.C., joins
the Lords after playing three seasons with the Mt. Baker Volleyball
Club, Victoria Titans and Duchess Park SS. In high school, she was
named the senior girls MVP for three straight seasons and was team
captain in 2010 and 2011. At the provincial championship in those
years, she was named a provincial all-star.
With the Victoria Titans, her club had great success at the
provincial and national level. In 2008, the Titans were provincial
champions and won bronze at nationals, where she was named a
national all-star. In 2009 and 2010, her team won silver and bronze
respectively at provincials where she was once again named to the
all-star team.
Hogan also had the honour of playing for the British Columbia
provincial team in 2010.
STEPHANIE LAROSE
Hometown: Whitby, Ont.
Larose is an all-around player that can be used at any position,
having played power, middle and libero in club and high school
volleyball.
She has played with a number of clubs in the OVA, including the
Ganaraska Wolves, Clarington Grizzlies and the DRVC. In two years
with the DRVC, she was the team captain where she led her squad to
a number of OVA tournament titles.
Playing for Saint-Charles-Garnier in high school, Larose led her
team to two SMASH tournament titles.
JESSICA VAN STAALDUIEN
Hometown: Peterborough, Ont.
Van Staalduien, a 5-foot-10 middle from Peterborough, Ont., played
club volleyball last season with Ganaraska. In tournament play, the
Wolves won a medal at every OVA tournament this season, winning one
gold, two silver and one bronze.
In high school, Van Staalduinen played four seasons with the
Crestwood Mustangs. She was the captain of the team in 2012 and was
the team MVP.
RAECHEL MOHNS
Hometown: Pembroke, Ont.
Mohns, will add depth to the Lords line-up in the middle position.
For the past five season, she has gained valuable experience
playing with the Knights Volleyball Club.
At the 2012 provincial championship, her team reached the podium
as they finished in third place. She has also earned a number on
individual awards with the Knights program having been named the
leadership and perseverance award winner. She was also the captain
of the team.
