THREE HUMBER HAWKS INVITED TO NATIONAL TRYOUT

WINNIPEG - Forty-nine athletes, including three from the OCAA's Humber Hawks, are currently in Winnipeg competing for a spot on Canada's national women's A & B volleyball teams. The camp started on Monday, May 21 and runs until Friday, May 25 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre at the University of Manitoba.

This summer both the A and the B teams will train together for a one month period. In late June the A team will officially be selected and the B team will return to their hometowns. The A squad will then continue training and compete in some exhibition matches against Team Argentina in Winnipeg from July 7-10. Both Team Canada and Team Argentina will be preparing for the Pan Am Cup in Mexico, a qualification event for the 2013 World Grand Prix, which they will both be leaving for on July 11.

The selection camp schedule for this week is as follows (all sessions at the University of Manitoba Investors Group Athletic Centre).

Tuesday, May 22: 9 a.m. - 12 noon, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 23: 9 a.m. - 12 noon, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Thursday, May 24: 9 a.m. - 12 noon, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
