The Fanshawe Falcons women's volleyball team defeated the Sheridan Bruins in straight sets on Saturday (25-17, 25-18, 25-15). The win improved the Falcons record to 13-3 with two games left in the regular season.

After trailing 11-8 in the first set, the Falcons outscored the Bruins 17-6 to take a one-set lead. A large part of their early success came from third-year player Stephanie Bignell, who scored six points in the set.

Sheridan kept the game close in the second set. The teams were tied at 14 before the Falcons went on a 7-0 scoring run and opened up a two set lead. Strong play in the third led the Falcons to the straight set victory.

Stephanie Bignell was the top point scorer in the game with 15 (eight kills, four aces, three blocks). For the Bruins, Melissa Cappelletti and Jordie Bevan both had eight points.

The Falcons will host Niagara (8-8) on Monday night before travelling to Hamilton on Wednesday for their regular season finale against Mohawk (6-10).
