ST. CLAIR 3, CONESTOGA 1
KITCHENER, Ont. - The St. Clair women's volleyball team continued their winning streak this past weekend in OCAA action.
On Sunday, St. Clair travelled to Kitchener to do battle with the Conestoga Condors. The Saints struggled throughout this match but still managed to come away with a 3-1 win. Game scores for St. Clair were 18-25, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-20.
Rachel Rivers (Galt Collegiate/Cambridge) led the way offensively with 10 kills, two service aces and one stuff block. Helen Wiebe (Leamington District) had a solid match as well with eight kills and two aces. Monica Roch (EJ Lajeunesse/Windsor) had a great defensive game with 32 digs. Conestoga's record fell to 0-4 with the loss.
With the win the Saints improved their record to 4-1 on the season and have won four straight after dropping their first match at Mohawk 3-2. St. Clair is tied for second place in the OCAA West Division.
The Saints will continue their home schedule this coming weekend. On Saturday, the Saints will host Sheridan College at 4 p.m. and on Sunday, St. Clair will host the top-ranked Humber Hawks at 2 p.m.
