NIAGARA 3, CAMBRIAN 1
WINDSOR, Ont. - The Niagara Knights put up a hard fight against the Cambrian Golden Shield resulting in a win in the second game of the OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect held at St. Clair College's Sportsplex on Friday.
Cambrian looked hopeful, upsetting the Knights by taking an early lead in the first set winning 25-18. The second set remained close in scoring, but it was the Niagara Knights who came out with the win of 25-22. Cambrian continued to fight hard against Niagara's powerful offence, but the Knights prevailed and won the third set 25-19. The fourth set was a tough loss for the Golden Shield, being defeated by the Knights 25-15 to end the match.
Jordan Koslowski of the Niagara Knights dominated with 17 kills, six aces and one stuff block. Rachel Rivers supported with 18 kills. Bailey Davis provided strong setting with a whopping 40 assists.
Cambrian's Jillian Vallier fought back with eight kills, six aces and one stuff block. Emily Clark contributed with five kills, three aces and one stuff block. An outstanding setting display by Kendra Muffo resulted in 35 assists.
The Player of the Game for the Niagara Knights was Jordan Koslowski. The Cambrian Golden Shield's Player of the Game was Kailey Bastien.
