CCAA Bronze Semi-Final: Augustana Vikings 3, Humber Hawks 2
In a tightly contested and dramatic five-set battle, the Augustana Vikings defeated the Humber Hawks (25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8) to advance to the bronze medal match. After trailing 2–1 in sets, the Vikings responded with strong execution in the final two sets to complete the comeback victory.
Brooke McBride was named the 4imprint Augustana Player of the Game after contributing seven kills, two blocks, and one service ace in a key performance. Hadley Ziemmer led the Vikings offensively and defensively with 14 kills and 14 digs while adding two service aces. Taryn Watson recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Katelyn Hennessy contributed 18 assists and three service aces.
For the Hawks, CCAA All-Canadian Hannah Manners earned the 4imprint Humber Player of the Game honours after leading all players with 17 kills and adding two blocks. Jesse McDonaugh directed the offence with 33 assists and eight digs, while Claire Ramos and Caitlyn Labelle each recorded 10 digs.
With the result, Humber concludes the championship tied for fifth place, while the Augustana Vikings advance to the bronze medal match against the Vancouver Island University Mariners scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
Hawks Tournament Statistical Leaders: Manners led Humber with 36 total kills, while Kaley Rawlick recorded 65 assists. Lexi Zicari finished with a team-high six service aces, Labelle anchored the defence with 34 digs, and Keyome Ellis led the team at the net with seven blocks, highlighting a balanced team effort throughout the championship.
CCAA Semi-Final: Lakeland College Rustlers 3, Humber Hawks 0
The second national semifinal saw the Lakeland College Rustlers defeat the Humber Hawks in straight sets (25-13, 25-17, 25-22). The three-time defending national champions showcased their experience and depth, controlling much of the match to secure their place in the championship final.
Raegan Nicol was named the Lakeland Player of the Game after a strong performance at the net, finishing with six blocks, six kills, and one service ace. Carly Hawryluk led the Rustlers offensively with seven kills, while Seanna Trumier anchored the defence with 10 digs. Setter Katelyn Mazurkewich directed the offence efficiently, recording 24 assists.
For the Hawks, Faith Hughes earned the Humber Player of the Game honours after posting seven kills on an impressive .417 hitting percentage, along with two service aces and one block. Keyome Ellis contributed eight kills and two blocks, while Caitlyn Labelle recorded 10 digs.
The Humber Hawks will face the Augustana Vikings in the bronze semifinal on Friday at 8 p.m. CT. The Lakeland College Rustlers advance to the national final where they will meet the Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT.
CCAA Quarter-Final: Humber Hawks 3, Mount Allison Mounties 1
The final match of the evening at the CCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship saw the Humber Hawks defeat the Mount Allison Mounties in four sets (22-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-23).
After dropping the opening set, the Hawks responded with strong offensive execution and defensive consistency to claim the next three sets and secure their place in the semifinals.
Keyome Ellis was named the Humber Player of the Game after recording 11 kills, two service aces, and two blocks, making her presence felt throughout the match. All-Canadian Hannah Manners led the Hawks offensively with 16 kills, while Reese Cholette anchored the defence with a team-high 16 digs. Setter Kaley Rawlick directed the offence effectively, finishing with 48 assists in a strong all-around team performance.
For the Mounties, Mya Artibello earned the Mount Allison Player of the Game honours after leading the team with 13 kills and three service aces while adding six digs. Chloe Palmer had a solid defensive outing with 16 digs, while setter Ana McCain recorded 25 assists.
The Humber Hawks will face the Lakeland College Rustlers in the national semifinal on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT. Mount Allison will meet host Providence University College in the bronze quarterfinal scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. CT.
