KITCHENER, Ont. - They dropped the first set, but the Mohawk men's volleyball team rallied to knock off Conestoga 18-25, 28-26, 25-21, 25-12 in their OCAA regular season opener in Kitchener, Ont., on Thursday.
Max Anderson led the Mountaineer offence with 15 kills, one service ace and added eight defensive digs. Eric Girard had 11 kills. Cody Charlton produced six kills, four stuff blocks and two aces. Steven Falk had eight digs and great ball control.
For the Condors, Wesley Lau had 15 kills, one ace and six digs. Kyle Chaffe contributed six kills and eight digs.
"We came out flat and need to prepare better for our matches," said Mohawk head coach Matthew Schnarr. "We will take a break and ramp up for action in Sudbury next weekend."
