Men's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Men's Indoor Soccer
Humber's men's indoor soccer team brought the men's title back to Humber after a two year hiatus as they beat the Sheridan Bruins in the Gold Medal game on Friday at the Ontario Soccer Centre. This win was Humber's eighth in the last 10 years. Humber advanced to the gold medal game after defeating Seneca in overtime, in the semi final. Starting keeper David Ragno was injured with two minutes left in regulation, and had to be replaced by Aleks Aleksandrov. Aleks Janjic scored the winner. In the championship game Andrew Dasilva of Humber opened and closed the scoring, while Mario Orestano buried one in the middle helping the Hawks to the 3-0 win. Aleks Aleksandrov posted the shutout. Mario Orestano was named the Championship MVP, while teammates Andrew DaSilva and Daniel Albert were Championship All-Stars.
Women's Team of the Week –Humber Hawks, Women's Indoor Soccer
Humber's women's indoor soccer team added another banner and trophy to the case on Friday as they defeated the defending champions from Fanshawe in the championship game. The Hawks went into the semi finals after posting a 2-0-1 record in pool play on Thursday. The Hawks squeaked past Conestoga in a shootout to advance to the finals. In the finals, Humber controlled the play for much of the game leading to 2-0 win over the Falcons for the Gold. Keyla Moreno and Nilda Correia scored for Humber in the final, while Rose Mary Ormeno posted the shutout. Moreno was named the Championship MVP, Rose Mary Ormeno was deemed the Top Goal keeper and Nicole Carvalho was named a Championship All-star.

Men's Team of the Week – Algonquin Thunder, Men's Basketball
The Algonquin Thunder entered the CN 2009 CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship as a wild card team and were seeded seventh. After four games in three days the Thunder walked away with a bronze medal around their necks as they defeated host UNBC 116-105 in the Bronze Final. The Thunder were led by the OCAA Player of the Year, Charly Spurr who was named a First Team CCAA Championship All-star. Jordan Rose was also recognized for his play as he was named a Second Team CCAA Championship All-star.
Women's Team of the Week –Sheridan Bruins, Women's Basketball
The Sheridan Bruins entered the CCAA Women's Basketball Championship looking to put Ontario Women's Basketball back on the map. When all was said and done, the Bruins became the first Women's Basketball school in OCAA history to compete in the Gold medal game and their silver medal performance marks the OCAA's first CCAA medal in Women's Basketball since 1990 when Mohawk walked away with Bronze. The Bruins were led by Hali Burns who was named a First Team CCAA Championship All-star, while teammate Donisha Young was name a Second Team CCAA Championship All-star.

Men's Team of the Week – Algonquin Thunder, Men's Volleyball
The Algonquin Thunder Men's volleyball team fell just short of a CCAA National Championship bronze medal in Alberta, posting a 2-2 record at the tournament. Leftside hitter Ryan Debruyn and setter Costa Solanakis were both named as Championship All-stars for their standout performances. The Thunder defeated OCAA rival Sencea Sting (3-0) and the host Keyano College (3-0) before falling to Camoson 3-1 in the bronze medal Final.
Women's Team of the Week –Humber Hawks, Women's Volleyball
The Humber Hawks posted a 1-2 record at the CCAA National Championships this past weekend in North Bay. After dropping their opener to FX Garneau 3-0 (13-25, 19-25, 17-25), the OCAA Champs rebounded to defeat Mount Allison impressively in straight sets (25-15, 25-8, 25-16). The ladies then found themselves in a fight with the Red Deer Queens, but unfortunatly fell just short with a 3-1 defeat (25-17, 21-25, 19-25, 19-25). Landis Doyle was named a second team tournament all-star and was supported by numerous standout performances by her Hawks teammates.

Men's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks Men's Basketball
The Humber Hawks ran their unbeaten streak to 18 games winning the OCAA Provincial Championship defeating the host Algonquin Thunder 85-78. The Hawks were led to their OCAA Men's Basketball leading eleventh title, and tenth in the last eighteen years by Championship MVP Daviau Rodney who scored a game high 29 points in the win. Rodney was also the games top scorer with 22 in the Hawks 79-62 semi-final win over Niagara. Jadwey Hemmings was named a Tournament All-star because of his stellar play on the defensive side of the ball. Rookie Michael Acheampong also had a strong showing at the Championship combining for 42 points over the two games. The Hawks will now move onto the CCAA National Championship Tournament which will be held at the University of Northern British Columbia in two weeks.
Women's Team of the Week –Sheridan Bruins Women's Basketball
The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team made it back-to-back OCAA championships this past weekend, defeating their GTA rivals, Seneca Sting, in the Championship Final 75-65. The Bruins were led by Championship MVP, Sarah Moxley, and tournament all-stars Donisha Young and Hali Burns. The Bruins also defeated the St. Lawrence Vikings in their semi-final match up 76-47 to earn their trip to the gold medal game. The ladies will now represent Ontario at the CCAA National Championships in Quebec City.

Team of the Week – Algonquin Thunder, Men's Volleyball
The Algonquin Thunder men's volleyball team captured the OCAA Championship title this past weekend and will now represent Ontario at the CCAA National Championship in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The Thunder went a perfect 6-0 defeating Mohawk in the semi-finals and Seneca in the final, to punch their ticket. Their wins were a complete team effort led by championship MVP Ryan Debruyn and Tournament All-star setter Costa Solanakis who was superb in his set selection. Charlie Hamilton and Jonathan Sloane were also dominant for the Thunder who will arguably be one of the deepest teams heading into the CCAA Championship.
Team of the Week –Humber Hawks, Women's Volleyball
The Humber Hawks completed the championship repeat, capturing their second consecutive OCAA Championship title this time at Durham College in Oshawa. Only dropping one set in the tournament, in the final versus the Nipissing Lakers, the Hawks dismissed the Loyalist Lancers and CCAA National Championship host, Lakers along their way. Humber was led by Championship MVP Michelle Overzet, OCAA Player of the Year Landis Doyle and setter Alex Steplock, all of whom were named to the Championship All-star team.

Team of the Week – Fleming Knights Curling
Both the men's and women's curling teams from Fleming Peterborough captured gold in the finals of the 2009 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Curling Championships at the Glendale Curling Club, hosted by Mohawk College in Hamilton. For the men's side, led by skip Trevor Mundle, vice Garett Ward, second Adam Gagne and lead Adam Baer and fifth Carson Nunn it marked the first time the college has captured gold. The team was a perfect 7-0 in the round-robin and defeated Niagara in the final 8-1. On the women's side, the Knights faced adversity on and off the ice, but persevered for a three-peat performance, winning their third-straight gold thanks to a 7-5 final victory over the Confederation College Thunderhawks. The women's team included skip Lindsay Graham, vice Jamie-Lee Lyne, second Robyn Finner, lead Kira Bateman and fifth Amanda Prosser. The women also brought home the fair play award for their efforts.
Team of the Week – Algoma Thunderbirds Mixed Curling Team
The Algoma Thunderbirds won gold in Mixed Curling in dominate fashion as they defeated St. Clair 10-2 in the final. The Thunderbirds soared though Round Robin play failing to drop a game, finishing with a 4-0 record and a free pass to the Championship final. The team of Clint Cudmore, Jamie Sammon, Brendan Hodgson, Sara Bennett and Kelsey Janveaum made all their shots in the final helping them earn a 10-2 win over St. Clair and the right to call themselves OCAA Champions.
Team of the Week – Cambrian Golden Shield Badminton Team
The Cambrian Badminton team had an impressive showing at the 2009 OCAA Badminton Championship hosted by Georgian on their way to the Overall team title walking away with three of a possible five gold medals. OCAA Women's Badminton Player of the Year Jody Carruthers proved her worth as she defeated rival Karen Ng, 15-21, 21-10, 21-18 to win gold. The Women's doubles team of Heather Schultz/Samantha Sheppard were also golden as they defeated the Boreal squad 21-12, 21-13 in the finals. The Mixed doubles team of Mike Del Fante/Kayla Odorrizzi rounded out the golden performance for Cambrian as they defeated the Fanshawe twosome 21-11, 21-14 in the finals. The Men's doubles team of Lyle Gates/Dustin Mitchell captured bronze helping lead Cambrian to their first Overall title since 2005-2006.

Men's Team of the Week – Loyalist Lancers, Men's Volleyball
The Loyalist Lancers pulled off the first major upset of the OCAA Championships season as they handed the Redeemer Royals 3-2. The Lancers entered the playoffs as the sixth place team in the East, finishing with an 8-10 record, while Redeemer wound up in third in the West with a 12-4 record. The Belleville team did not let the difference on paper come between them, jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead on the match. The Royals battled back before the Lancers put them away in the fifth set 16-14. Loyalist was led by Matthew Groenveld and Kyle Donnan who combined for 28 points in the win. The Lancers will now travel to Seneca to take on the Sting.
Women's Team of the Week –Sheridan Bruins, Women's Basketball
The Sheridan Bruins continue to show why they are the top team in the OCAA as they pulled off two wins this past week to move to 13-0. First up, the Bruins rolled past Mohawk 76-39. Sheridan's lineup had four players in double figures with Donisha Young leading the way with 13 points. The second win of the week for the Bruins was a 103-29 win over the Redeemer Royals. Sheridan was once again led by a balanced attacked, with all twelve players getting on the score sheet. Vivian Essuon of the Bruins scored a game high 20 points in the win. Sheridan now has the luxury of home court throughout the playoffs as they will host a Quarterfinal game in addition to the OCAA Championships.

Team of the Week – Humber Hawks Badminton Team
The overall teams championship title came right down to the wire in the West division as the Humber Hawks (40 pts.) narrowly edged out the Seneca Sting (39 pts.) by one point to claim the West Regional trophy. The Hawks men's team made their contribution to the overall title also snagging the men's team title, scoring 25 points. The lady Hawks were led by double's standouts Rosanna U and Selina Koa who claimed gold, as well as Jordanna Langhill who earned bronze in the women's singles competition.
Team of the Week – Cambrian Golden Shield Badminton Team
It was a celebration on their home court as the Cambrian Golden Shield solidly claimed the East Regional title with 49 points over runner-ups George Brown Huskies and the Georgian Grizzlies who were second and third respectively. Cambrian was led by the golden performances of Lyle Gates/Dustin Mitchell in the men's doubles and also claimed the women's doubles title with the pair of Heather Schultz/Samantha Sheppard. Mixed Doubles was also good the the Shield as Mike Del Fante/Kayla Odirizzi posted a perfect record for the tournament. Chris Haines found a silver lining in the men's singles, as did Jody Carruthers in the women's singles. Lydia Zhu also earned points finishing third, also in the women's singles competition.

Men's Team of the Week – Trent Excalibur, Men's Volleyball
Going a perfect 3-0 this week, the Trent University Excalibur men's volleyball team are still climbing the provincial rankings, moving from six to five after defeating Loyalist, Boreal and Cambrian this week. Versus Loyalist, the Excalibur relied heavily on fourth year rightside hitter Ian Rettie who paced all hitters with 16 kills and also contributed three aces and two blocks in the 3-1 victory. Against the Viperes of Boreal Michael Peers paced the team, downing five kills of his own in the 3-0 routing of the team from Sudbury. Wesley Sutherland took his turn to lead the Trent offense against Cambrian, nailing seven kills in the 3-0 match, finishing with 11 total points. The Excalibur now sit with a 12-3 record and could overtake Durham for second spot in the East with two victories in their final three matches.
Women's Team of the Week –Sault Cougars, Women's Volleyball
Sometimes the score just doesn't reflect the truth and this week is one of those times. The Sault Cougars have flown under the radar this season and for the first time since 2004, are in the hunt for a playoff birth, currently sporting an 8-10 record in the West division. The Cougars were dealt an unfortunate circumstance when their bus broke down this weekend, resulting in a forfeit against the Mohawk Mountaineers when they were unable to play or reschedule the match. The Cougars did however manage to play their second match and made the most of it defeating the Fanshawe Falcons 3-2. Michela Szatanski and Lindsay Knezevic led the Sault offensively ripping 14 kills each, while Szatanski also bombed away from the service line adding five aces to her night's total before tallying two blocks to her total. Jamie Nicholls was also a force, downing 10 kills of her own in the win. The Cougars will now round out their season with home games versus both Lambton (1-16) and St. Clair (12-5).

Men's Team of the Week – Fleming Knights, Men's Basketball
The high flying Fleming Knights topped the century mark as they defeated Seneca 100-69. Knight Jovain Wilson came up one assist shy of a triple double as he finished with 31 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists. His teammates Tony Duran and Neil O'Sullivan combined for 56 points while hitting 13 for behind the arc in the win. The scoring didn't stop there for the Knights as they defeated Georgian 105-74. Jovain Wilson scored 26 points in the win for Fleming. The Knights have now won six straight games and have scored in triple figures in each of those victories to sit atop of Men's Basketball rankings.
Women's Team of the Week – George Brown Huskies, Women's Basketball
The George Brown Huskies pulled off an upset as they defeated the St. Lawrence Vikings 66-63. The Huskies were led by Chantel Gray who put up 18 points while teammate Kamilia Isaac chipped in 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. The win jumped the Huskies from seven to five in the OCAA Women's Basketball ranking and helped the Huskies keep pace in the hunt for a playoff birth in the East.

Men's Team of the Week – Seneca Sting, Men's Volleyball
Seneca continues their climb back up the OCAA elite ladder with a 3-1 victory over the third ranked Trent Excalibur courtesy of J.R. Sapienza's 14 kills for the Sting. The Sting capped off their run this week with a tournament victory that included rebounding from a 2-0 pool play loss to defeat the Humber Hawks in the Champiopnship Final. They solidified their foothold in the OCAA rankings, and are currently ranked #3 in the province.
Women's Team of the Week –Algonquin Thunder, Women's Volleyball
Move over Algonquin men, the women are coming through. The lady Thunder had a successful week with wins over both Durham who were ranked fifth (3-1) and fourth ranked Loyalist (3-0) in convincing fashion. The two wins helped catapult the blue and white in the ranking climbing from seven to four and find themselves alone on top of the East Region.

Men's Team of the Week – Cambrian Golden Shield, Men's Basketball
Coming off their gold medal performance at the 38th Annual Loyalist New Years Classic, the Cambrian Golden Shield continued their hot play with wins over Seneca and George Brown. The Sudbury squad was led by Jerome Bailey and his 21 points in their 81-69 win over the Sting. The next night, Bailey once again chipped in 21 as the Golden Shield rolled past the George Brown Huskies 72-53. Brady Bolan led Cambrian in scoring with 25. With the two wins Cambrian re-enters the OCAA Men's Basketball Rankings at number nine.
Women's Team of the Week – La Cite Coyetes, Women's Volleyball
Elise Vincent, a 5'11 middle posted three double digit kill games in a three day span, including a 24 kill match versus the Cambrian Golden Shield where the Coyotes reigned victorious in a five set marathon. The Sudbury native also posted 14 kills in the scheduled game against Boreal, before following her performance up one day later with 13 kills and four aces in a make-up game also against Boreal.

Men's Team of the Week – Durham Lords, Men's Basketball
In Durham's only action this week, the Lords defeated St. Lawrence Kingston 91-84 handing them their first loss on the year. The duo of Anthony Batchelor and Evan Browne each scored 23 for the Lords in the upset win. The victory gives the Lords a 6-3 record heading into the Christmas break and shoots them back into the OCAA rankings at number eight.
Women's Team of the Week – St. Lawrence Vikings, Women's Basketball
The St. Lawrence Kingston Vikings returned to their winning ways by defeating both Durham and George Brown. In their 61-54 win over Durham, Rachel Niven led all scorers with 23 points with teammate Kylie Stover chipping in 14. Bailey Lomas scored 29 points for the Vikings as they defeated George Brown 78-61. Rachel Niven was hot once again as she posted a triple double in the win. St. Lawrence is currently ranked 5th in the province with one game against Loyalist remaining before the Christmas break.

Men's Team of the Week – Mohawk Mountaineers, Men's Volleyball
With something to prove this season the Mohawk Mountaineers are once again notching out an identity for themselves. This past week was one more step in the right direction as the defending champs defeated Humber 3-1 at home. They then took their show on the road where they added another 3-1 victory over the Canadore Panthers before dousing the Nipissing Lakers 3-0 to conclude a successful road trip.
Women's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Women's Volleyball
The Humber Hawks were the dominant team in women's volleyball this past week after posting three victories and retaining their top ranked perch above their OCAA rivals. The ladies started their run winning a three set victory versus a tough Mohawk team before continuing to roll as they again swept a solid team in the Fanshawe Falcons. Lastly, the Hawks defeated another up and coming team, the Sault Cougars 3-0 to cap off a stellar week of play.

Men's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Men's Basketball
The Hawks had a successful week rolling off three wins over ranked opponents. Humber drew first blood in their rivalry with Sheridan as they defeated the Bruins 87-71. Daviau Rodney was the big scorer for the Hawks with 25, while teammates Akeem Sween and Milton Holness both put up 19 points. The Hawks didn't stop there as they also defeated St. Clair 71-63. Akeem Sween paced Humber with 22 points in the win. Next up, the Etobicoke squad defeated the Lambton Lions 86-72 for their third win of the week. Sween once again led the way with 19 points with teammate Michael Acheampong matching him on the score sheet with 19 points of his own.
Women's Team of the Week –Georgian Grizzlies, Women's Basketball
Georgian entered the week as the sixth ranked team and had the daunting task of facing off against the third and fourth ranked teams on consecutive days. When the dust settled the Grizzlies pulled off wins over both St. Lawrence and Loyalist to shake up the Women's Basketball rankings. Against St. Lawrence, the Grizzlies were able to squeeze out a 56-54 win. Georgian was led by Summer Bly and Dana Marley who both had double-doubles in the win. In their 75-63 win over Loyalist, Dana Marley put up 29 points to guide the Grizzlies to the victory. The Grizzlies jumped from sixth to third in the OCAA Rankings.

Men's Team of the Week – Lambton Lions, Men's Basketball
The Lambton Lions had an impressive week with wins over Mohawk (125-105), Algoma (85-82), and Sault (80-68). In their win over Mohawk, the Lions had three players score over 20 points with Mohamed Farah leading all scorers with 29. David Akelatis was the big scorer against Algoma with a season high 36 points. With the three wins the Lions make their debut on the OCAA Rankings for the first time this season at 8th.
Women's Team of the Week – Trent Excalibur, Women's Volleyball
The Trent Excalibur women were the only multiple winners this week defeating the Boreal Vipres 3-0 with an evenly distributed offence that saw each offensive player record at least two offensive points. In their game against the Golden Shield, Trent relied on the strength of Jen Lenis' 11 kill game to power them past 3-1 (25-23, 13-25, 25-23, 25-20).

Men's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Men's Rugby
After posting as 6-1 regular season record, the Humber Hawks continued their march to the OCAA Division 1 Rugby crown, defeating the Fleming Knights (4-3) in a tightly contested match 28-7. Humber was led by rookie flanker David Lambden-Milliken and his dominant play throughout the game. Following the contest he was selected as the Man of the Match for his outstanding play. Aside from Lambden-Miliken's try, also scoring for the Hawks in the victory were Rob Lefler (try, convert), Dale Essue (try), Matt Stanfield (try) and Brendan Baines (try).
Women's Team of the Week – Fanshawe Falcons, Women's X-Country
The Fanshawe Falcons captured the Women's team gold medal at the 2008 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running Open Championship hosted by St. Lawrence College, Kingston. This marks the first time a team from Ontario has won the Women's team gold medal on this stage. Fanshawe was led by Becky Pieterson who finished in 4th and Tineke Dejong who crossed in 10th. Other members of the gold medal winning Falcons were Joanna Clark, Ashley Killens, Sarah Vandonl, Melissa Linker, Alysha Gjos, Aleasha Soutiere, and Kaite Dundas.

Men's Team of the Week – St. Lawrence Kingston Vikings, Men's Rugby
The St. Lawrence College Vikings capped off their perfect season, capturing the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Men's Division II championship title 58-0 in Kingston. The Vikings turned in a stellar performance on the backs of League All-Stars Ryan Mallette and Sergio Grice as the pair combined for 33 of the 58 points scored. Mallette opened the scoring mid way through the first half when he broke free from around centre field for the score. Grice quickly followed his score adding a try of his own, before hitting a penalty kick for the third score of the game. Joshua Turcott rounded out the first half scoring with a try to give the Vikings an 18-0 lead heading into the break. The second half was dominated by the upstart Vikings as Ben Haskins scored his first try of the season leading his team to accumulated 40 points in the second stanza. Grice, the league's scoring champion, scored 15 points after the half way break. This is the Vikings first OCAA Division II Rugby Championship title in school history and is in the school's first season in OCAA Rugby.
Men's Team of the Week – Algonquin Thunder, Men's Soccer
The Algonquin Men's Soccer team are the OCAA Men's soccer champions for a record 5th straight year. Led by former OCAA Athlete of the Year Loui Legakis, the Thunder squeaked by the St. Clair Saints 2-1 to advance to the finals versus the Sheridan Bruins. Rain forced the final to be moved to Trent University where the Thunder controlled the play from the get go and easily defeated the Bruins by a score of 6-0. Legakis scored two goals, while OCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Year, Will Beauge, also scored two. Corey O'Connell and Edgar Soglo also added goals in the victory. Beauge was named the Tournament MVP, while Legakis was named a Tournament All-star and Tristian Roscoe the Top Goal keeper. The Thunder will travel to Thompson River University in hopes of turning their National Championship silver medals from last year into gold.
Women's Team of the Week –Humber Hawks, Women's Soccer
The Humber Women's Soccer team capped off an impressive OCAA season by winning a OCAA gold medal. Starting the championship at Algonquin College, the Hawks upended the two-time defending champs from Durham College 2-0, earning their wings into the Championship game. Keyla Moreno, was named the Hawk's Player of the Game for her outstanding effort. When the final kicked off the following day, the Hawk's held a 1-0 lead over Algonquin at the half, but the skies over Ottawa decided to open up and unfortunately the score would also be washed out and a neutral site would be required to replay the game. Frustrated or not, the Hawks regrouped and marched on to the 2-0 victory after Brittany Szcerbakow found the back of the net at the 6:50 minute mark. At the 67:00 minute mark of the second half Tournament MVP, Connie Tamberello, booted the ball in for the final goal of the game. The Hawks now advance to the CCAA National Championships at Thomson Rivers in Kamloops, BC.

Men's Team of the Week – Conestoga Condors, Men's Cross Country
The Cross Country team from Conestoga had three of the first eight runners cross the line to claim the Men's Overall Gold medal at the OCAA Cross Country Championships. David Sharratt finished first to repeat as OCAA Men's Individual Champion. The team finished with 30 points, 14 points better than last years champions from Fanshawe. Jason Smith (seventh), Francis Caral-Mellon (eighth) and Drew Jensen (14th) each played important roles in securing the gold.
Women's Team of the Week –Fanshawe Falcons, Women's Cross Country
The Fanshawe Falcons won the OCAA Cross Country Women's Team Championship, finishing one point better than the two time defending champions from Humber. Tineke Dejong and Becky Pieterson of Fanshawe finished second and third leading the Falcons to the Women's team title. Sarah Vandonk finished in 14th place to help secure the win for Fanshawe.

Men's Team of the Week – St. Clair Saints, Men's Soccer
After finishing the season with a 6-4-1 record, the Saints drew the tough task of facing the defending OCAA silver medalist from George Brown in their crossover game with the winner advancing to the OCAA Championships. The Saints played the Huskies tough eventually winning in a shootout 2-1. Robert Malbasic scored the regulation goal for the Saints. Next up for the Saints is the OCAA Championship where they drew the tough task in the host and four time defending OCAA Champions from Algonquin.
Women's Team of the Week –St. Clair Saints, Women's Fastball
Host St. Clair College did the improbable and defeated the two time defending OCAA Champions, Durham College to earn the title of 2008 OCAA Women's Fastball Champions. The Saints strung together two upsets to win in the final round against the favoured Durham Lords from Oshawa. This marks the second championship for the Saints who last won the crown in 2005. Candice Gatecliffe was named Tournament MVP.

Men's Team of the Week – George Brown Huskies, Men's Soccer
The George Brown Huskies clinched top spot in the OCAA Central East division with ties over both Seneca and Algonquin. In the game against division rival Seneca, Noel Ellerton and Matt Sorsak scored for George Brown in a 2-2 tie. In a rematch of last year's OCAA Championship final game, George Brown became the first team to walk away from a game against Algonquin with a point this season. OCAA leading scorer Noel Ellerton scored the lone goal for the Huskies. With the first place finish in the Central East, George Brown will take on the second place finisher in the West in Quarter-Final action.
Women's Team of the Week – Fleming Peterborough Knights, Women's Soccer
Fleming Peterborough capped off an impressive week with three wins to secure a spot in the OCAA Women's Soccer playoffs. Fleming started the week off with a 2-0 win over Centennial. The wins did not stop there as they chalked up wins over both Cambrian and La Cite. Fleming outscored their opponents in the three games by a score of 10-1. The Knights will close out their regular season with a game against Durham before traveling to Humber to take on the Hawks in the Quarter-finals.

Men's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Men's Golf
The Humber men took home their third consecutive Men's Golf Championship after finishing 18 strokes over second place Niagara. Humber team was as deep as they come, as three of their golfers won individual medals. Mike Zizek won the competition by five strokes over teammate James Castle. Brett Pearl finished in a four way tie for the bronze medal. Other members of the team were Mark Hoffman, Ryan Willoughby and David Szestopalow.
Men's Team of the Week – Fleming Knights, Men's Golf
The Fleming P Knights were crowned the Men's Golf Division 2 Champions after finishing 12 strokes better than St. Lawrence Kingston and Boreal. This marks the second consecutive year that Fleming has walked away from the OCAA Golf Championships with the Division 2 gold medal. Members of the team include Kyle Sobczak, Brennan Smith, Braden Blewett, Tyler Thompson and Dave Anderson.
Women's Team of the Week – Humber Hawks, Women's Golf
Humber women were dominant as a team again this year, placing four golfers in the top six, enough to celebrate their third consecutive women's team championship title by a commanding 44 strokes over the Niagara Knights. The team consisted of Maggie Trainor (2nd), Shauna Wilde (3rd), Bev Peel (4th) and Jessica McLean (8th).

Men's Team of the Week – Mohawk Mountaineers, Men's Rugby
In the battle of the unbeaten, Mohawk flexed their muscles in a big way with a 45-5 win over Fleming P. James Cumpson led the way for the Mountaineers with six converts, one try, and one penalty kick for 20 points. John Tavares scored two tries, while Steve Johnston, John Isbister, and Trevor Atkinson all scored one. Mohawk looks to remain unbeaten with matches against Georgian and Conestoga this week.
Women's Team of the Week – Fanshawe Falcons, Women's Soccer
Fanshawe had a successful week with wins over Mohawk and Sheridan, while holding the top ranked Humber Hawks off the scoreboard in a 0-0 tie. Alana Cornet led the way for the Falcons offensively with two goals in their 3-0 win over Mohawk and a hat trick against Sheridan as they won 5-0. The Falcons play this week helped elevate them to 5th in the OCAA Rankings.

Men's Team of the Week – St. Lawrence Kingston, Men's Rugby
In the Vikings first ever OCAA rugby match they looked like seasoned veterans as they handed Fleming Lindsay a 52-0 loss. The Vikings were led by Sergio Grice who had one try and kicked six converts. Faron Ling scored three tries, while Patrick Gillespie scored two. Tommy Brant and Brandon Aubin each scored a try each to help lead the Vikings to victory.
Women's Team of the Week – Algonquin Thunder, Women's Soccer
The Thunder entered the week with the tough task of having to face the two top ranked teams in the province (Durham and Seneca) on back-to-back nights. At the end of the week they had walked away from a hard fought battle against Durham with a tie and exciting 1-0 win over Seneca. Stephanie Young scored the goal against Durham, while Tamara den Hartigh scored against Seneca. Melissa Urguhart was in net for both games.

Men's Team of the Week – Fleming Peterborough, Men's Soccer
The Knights of Fleming Peterborough have turned in a solid start to their season after posting a 3-2 victory over their East Region rival St. Lawrence Kingston and battling the Central East's Seneca Sting to a 1-1 tie. Scoring for the team has been spread out as the Knights have received goals from Roy Beishuizen, Jordon Fiscio, Robert Dupont and Mark Van Beek.
Women's Team of the Week – Seneca Sting, Women's Soccer
The Seneca Sting Women's Soccer team has jumped out of the 2008 gates with a purpose, winning their first three games and claiming the top rank in the province for their efforts. The Lady Sting have relied heavily on the play of Calaigh Copland and Ashley Docking who have both scored six goals each, while Kim Marshall has also been credited with multiple goals this week after scoring two herself.
